Ghanaian teenager Genesis Antwi has expressed his pride after signing a scholarship contract with English football giants Chelsea.
The agreement, which was finalized last week. The talented 16-year-old currently plays as a right-back for Chelsea’s Under-18 team.
Antwi took to Instagram to share the exciting news with his fans and followers. In his post, he wrote, “What a proud moment to sign a scholarship at @chelseafc.”
Antwi’s focus now shifts towards making a lasting impression on Chelsea’s Under-18s coach, John Terry, as he aims to secure further advancement within the club’s system.
Under the guidance of Ed Brand, the Chelsea U-18 team achieved notable success in the previous season.
They finished in eighth place in the league, reached the semi-finals of the esteemed FA Youth Cup, and clinched the Under-18 Premier League Cup with a victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage.
Despite his tender age, Antwi has already gained international experience by representing England at the Under-16 level. Moreover, the young talent holds eligibility to represent both Ghana and Sweden at the international stage.
