After meeting all of the requirements for club licensing, Medeama SC, the champion of the 2023–24 CAF Champions League, was given permission to compete.
The First Instance Body (FIB) evaluated Medeama’s application in light of the five standards that the CAF had established.
The club complied with all sporting, legal, infrastructure, administrative, and personnel requirements.
Overall, the club met the requirements to have its license application approved. The FIB overwhelmingly approved Medeama’s request for a license to host the CAF Interclub competitions in 2023–24.
As part of the licensing process, Medeama agreed to cooperate with Fiase Golden Royal FC as the club’s official women’s squad for the course of the week.
The Tarkwa-based team will play in continental football once more after their previous appearance in the 2016 campaign, when they advanced to the CAF Confederation Cup group stage.
They shared a group with MO Bejaia, TP Mazembe, and Young Africans and defeated South African powerhouse Mamelodi Sundowns in the playoff.
