Iyanya, Yvonne Nelson’s ex-boyfriend, has responded to her assertion that Sarkodie impregnated her.

In a recent reaction, Iyanya expressed his thoughts on Yvonne’s claim and Sarkodie’s involvement.

On June 19, 2023, Iyanya took to social media to voice his thoughts, sharing a tweet that pondered whether the details of the incident were also mentioned in Yvonne’s book. His tweet, which was sighted by many, questioned the necessity of divulging such intimate details.

It’s worth noting that Iyanya and Yvonne Nelson were romantically involved until their split in 2012. The singer previously explained that their separation was due to their busy schedules, with his demanding career preventing them from dedicating sufficient time to each other. Despite their parting, Iyanya held Yvonne in high regard, describing her as a remarkable and beautiful woman. He cherished their intimate moments and the affection they shared, reminiscing about their time together.

Yvonne Nelson’s book, titled ‘I Am Not Yvonne Nelson,’ contains various revelations, including her decision to terminate the pregnancy conceived with Sarkodie. Yvonne disclosed that Sarkodie refused to accept responsibility, citing his involvement with another girlfriend as the reason for his rejection. The incident occurred in 2010 and involved Sarkodie, a rapper based in Tema, who has since become a highly acclaimed Ghanaian musician.

In her book, Yvonne recounts visiting a clinic with her friend Karen to confirm her suspicions about being pregnant. Overwhelmed by the situation, Yvonne couldn’t bring herself to open the test results, and it was Karen who revealed the outcome. She then reached out to the man responsible, Michael Owusu Addo, widely known as Sarkodie, describing him as a budding musician at the time. Yvonne acknowledged the uncertainty surrounding Sarkodie’s future and his reliance on his mother’s support.

Yvonne emphasized that her relationship with Sarkodie wasn’t particularly serious, as she tended to gravitate towards people in the music industry. Being passionate about music, Yvonne admired Sarkodie’s talent, which brought them closer together.

Chapter 8 of Yvonne Nelson’s memoir, which was launched on June 18, 2023, delves into her attempt to terminate the pregnancy using concoctions provided by a colleague. However, the substances proved ineffective, and subsequent tests revealed that she was still pregnant. Considering her fatherless upbringing and the refusal of the child’s father to take responsibility, Yvonne made the difficult decision to proceed with the abortion, as she didn’t want to bring another person into the world to face rejection and potential hardship.
